About Alcalá de los Gazules
Alcalá is one of the White Villages of Andalucia,
retaining a way of life and attitude that is a world away from the hustle and
bustle of modern life. Or at least it was until the recent opening of
the A381 motorway connecting Jerez de la Frontera to the southern
Mediterranean coast of Andalucia.
Now, Alcalá finds itself a short 30 minutes drive from
Jerez airport (and 40 minutes from Gibraltar, 74 from Seville and 90 from
Malaga) and only 35 minutes from the unspoilt, pristine and quiet beaches of
the Costa de la Luz.
However, it is still the gateway into he Alcornocales
National Park, still has glorious flora and fauna .. and still has that
relaxed, unhurried way of life that so many people dream of.
